Heidelberg Recreation  
Magnolia Park in Heidelberg (pictured above) has tennis courts, picnic tables, a pavillion, and playground. It is a favorite place for Heidelberg natives to exercise, gather, play, rest, picnic, and enjoy our beautiful mild temperatures. And as in most southern towns, youth sports is a major activity in the summer months.

You can also go camping in one of Mississippi's state parks and uncover some of the best vacation spots in the world. Whether it's making your way down a nature trail or relaxing by an open fire, state parks are some of Mississippi's best kept secrets.

Hunting is a major pastime in our area.
Fishing is by far one of the most popular outdoor activities in Mississippi. The state's mild climate promotes a year-round season for the many game fish that thrive here, including more than 175 species of freshwater fish. You will find well stocked private ponds in the area, plus easy access to Lake Claude Bennett  in Jasper County. The Mississippi Gulf Coast and Philadelphia are both only a short distance from Heidelberg.
Youth baseballYouth sports is an important part of the Town of Heidelberg's community. Baseball in the summer is a strong tradition in Mississippi, and Heidelberg is no exception. Besides having lots of fun, youth learn ethics, sportsmanship, and a spirit of cooperation within the framework of Youth sports organizations. All ages are able to participate in some area of this important sport, if not as players, then as coaches or supporters. Our children are the future and we have a great responsibility to teach them well.

Golf is another favorite outdoor recreation. There is a 9 hole regulation golf course in Jasper County. Bay Springs Country Club is a private equity course with 36 par and 3,128 yards, and a rating of 34. There are several highly rated 18 hole courses in near proximity to Jasper County.

Heidelberg has easy access to many recreational activities. You are within an hour of Philadelphia, MS and Pearl River Resort. There are two casinos, and frequent concerts.We are a short distance from the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
